The challenge
The LovHack x BrandOye Growathon is a 2-week online growth challenge designed to help builders, founders, creators, and students learn how to grow the products they create. This is not a traditional hackathon focused only on building; it's about distribution, users, reach, growth, visibility, and traction.
Participants will receive access to BrandOye and use it throughout the challenge to experiment with SEO strategy, keyword research, social media growth, audience targeting, content creation, analytics and engagement tracking, and outreach and distribution.
Required tech & constraints
- Participants must be students only.
- Companies/professional organizations are excluded.
- Participants must be above the legal age of majority in their country of residence.
- Open to all countries/territories, excluding standard exceptions.
- BrandOye will be used for experiments.
Submission requirements
Participants must submit:
- A short description of their project/product.
- What growth strategies they experimented with.
- Social media profiles or public growth channels used.
- Screenshots of analytics, dashboards, or performance metrics.
- Key learnings and reflections from the Growathon.
- Honest results and progress metrics.
Judging Criteria
- Strategy & Clarity - 30%: How strong and thoughtful was the participant’s overall growth strategy? Were they targeting the right audience, channels, and opportunities?
- Content & Execution - 40%: How well did the participant execute their growth efforts across content, outreach, SEO, social media, or distribution? Was there consistency, creativity, and clear effort shown?
- Growth Insights & Results - 30%: Did the participant show meaningful learnings, experimentation, analytics, or traction throughout the Growathon? How well did they interpret and improve based on results?
Participants are encouraged to focus on engagement, consistency, creativity, experimentation, and growth strategy quality. Raw follower counts alone will not determine winners. BrandOye may verify analytics and usage data internally.
Prizes
- Best Overall Growth Strategy: Awarded to the participant or team that demonstrates the strongest overall execution across growth strategy, distribution, SEO, outreach, analytics, and audience-building.
- Best Content & Distribution: Awarded to the participant or team that creates the strongest content, social media presence, and distribution strategy.
- Most Improved Growth: Awarded to the participant or team that shows the most meaningful improvement, learning, experimentation, and progress.
- Community Favorite: Awarded to the participant or team that receives strong community engagement, support, and visibility.
- Best Student Builder: Awarded to an outstanding student participant who demonstrates strong execution, creativity, consistency, and growth mindset.
All 5 prizes are non-cash.
